Neptune Lines adopts shot-putter Maria Magoulia

Maria Magoulia, the 16-years old multi-medalist in shot put, is the new member of Neptune Lines family.

The talented athlete is the Greek Champion in her category and won the gold medal in the most recent Balkan Games. Maria holds the Pan-Hellenic record in junior category (3kg) and keeps breaking her own personal record in the 4 kg shot. In the European Athletics U20 Championships, which took place in Grosseto, Ιtaly in July, Maria competed with the Greek National Team and scored 15,25 meters breaking her personal record for the 4th time in a few months.

Maria originates from the island of Kalymnos, the fourth largest island of the Dodecanese Group, known as the island of the sea-sponge harvesters. After WW II, Kalymnos remained the only Greek island engaged in the sea sponge-harvesting activity, supplying domestic as well as foreign markets.

Thanks to its unique geomorphology, Kalymnos, apart from its wonderful beaches, is also known worldwide for offering alternative vacations and activities such as climbing, scuba diving, mountain hiking and spelunking.

Kalymnos and all of us are proud of Maria and wish her best of luck in the next season.
