Neptune Lines supports MarineLife

MarineLife is a wildlife research charity organization established to coordinate and develop a growing portfolio of global cetacean and seabird research and monitoring projects.

Adrian Shephard, a researcher for MarineLife, joined our “Neptune Aegli”  under the command of Captain Xylouris from May 17th to May 23rd   for a round trip starting from Southampton to Santander and back via Ireland and France. During this voyage he monitored and recorded the status of the marine wildlife - the presence of animals, their preferred habitats and behaviors as well as changes to  their total numbers versus previous records. His trip allowed him to encounter 9 different species of marine mammals with hundreds of dolphins and some of the 2nd largest animal on the planet, the Fin Whale. With the continued support of our staff, he had the chance to spot also 17 different species of seabirds and 10 different species of migrating birds that were making use of the Neptune Aegli to rest on their passage.

Neptune Lines is continuous to be  committed to its environmental protection policy and will keep supporting  and facilitating  marine conservation initiatives.
