All of us at Neptune Lines feel privileged and truly honored to have received two distinguished awards during the inaugural “ESG Shipping Awards” ceremony that took place on Tuesday, May 30th at the Megaron Concert Hall, in Athens.

Among more than 200 nominations in 11 award categories, Neptune Lines won the gold “ESG Leader” award for demonstrating overall exceptional performance within all three ESG pillars and also the silver “People Award” for its people-centered initiatives.

The ESG Shipping Awards (ESGA) is a new institution globally under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy in collaboration with the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping. Its vision is to acknowledge and further promote exemplary practices and initiatives undertaken by the shipping companies in relation to the three ESG pillars: environmental preservation, social contribution, and effective governance. Through constructive benchmarking, they aim to raise awareness of the ESG landscape within our sector and encourage companies to comprehensively document and share their ESG efforts publicly. Winners and finalists are selected based on their ability to demonstrate how they have incorporated sustainability into their business model making it an integral part of their culture and strategy.

We are very happy for this rewarding participation giving us the impetus and inspiration to work harder with even more enthusiasm along the same path: that of doing the right thing for the people, the environment, and society as a whole.

As our CEO, Craig Jasienski stated: “For Neptune Lines, the most important thing with ESG is not about what you have to do; it’s about what you want to do…We want to make a difference and we want to do better!”.
